A Chinese Export silver four panelled bowl by Wang Hing of Hong Kong.  Nothing so unusual about that except that this bowl was presented by Wang Hing himself to J. T Hoskins  – clearly a very special client!

The panels have applied decoration of different scenes and plants.  One panel has ducks swimming below weeping willows, another panel has a bird nestling in plum blossom branches, another has a crane with irises and the fourth panel has chrysanthemums – all symbolising auspicious wishes for a happy marriage.
