A Chinese export silver can shaped three piece tea set

The polished straight sides have been decorated with birds amongst trailing plum blossom branches .

Plum blossoms bloom at the end of the winter, and because of this, they are called the herald of spring.

The handles,finial  and spout are using plum blossom branches rather than the more usual bamboo motif
