CHINESE EXPORT SILVER TEA SET

Description

A Chinese Export silver tea set – extra special as you can see from all the photos.

Usually the Chinese silversmith uses one motif but in this case all the three pieces of this tea set have two sides – one side is worked with plum blossom – for new beginnings  and the other side is worked with chrysanthemums symbolising a prosperous life, positive growth, joy, and unwavering optimism.

The silversmith wanted to make extra sure to send good wishes – there are butterflies amongst the flowers – which mean nuptial bliss and flying cranes ( which mate for life)

Someone had a whole lot of fun ordering this Chinese Export silver tea set.

Do note the extra fine detail of the flowers – with engraving added to the applied decoration

The ultimate gift for an anniversary or wedding , this Chinese export silver set is also one for the collector.  We are not going to see workmanship like this again
