A globular Chinese Export silver tea caddy

The four rounded panels are repousse worked with flowering plum blossom branches.  Plum blosom is also engrave on the shoulders of the caddy and repousse worked on the  closely fitting lid

Plum Blossoms symbolise perseverance, new beginnings, hope, courage, strength, prosperity, good luck and resilience. The plum blossom represents winter and a sign of spring in Chinese culture. According to legend, the plant’s light pink blossoms offer peace and good fortune by balancing the yin and yang forces.
