VICTORIAN ENGLISH SILVER CRUET

Share

Description

A Victorian English silver cruet with all original seven crystal bottles in fine order

Cruets like this date from an era when food was served fairly bland and each diner would add his or her spice -chili  oils, nutmeg , salt and pepper and mustard., vinaigrette

This set has fine chased detail  decorating the carousel with  two reserves one of which has been engraved with cursive letters FTC.  The cruet stands on four cast feet.

The bottles with silver collars have the same maker and date as the carousel.

Amazing to find the cruet in such good order
