INDIAN CIGAR CASE

Share

Description

This early 20th century Indian silver cigar case is finely repousse worked with the chinar or plane leaf.  This motif was very popular with the Kashmir silversmiths who saw plane trees all around.

This is a particulary fine example with the space between the leaves filled with blue/green enamel – only for the best worked pieces.

There is a shield reserve engraved with the  initials F A S and 1915
